A name or location entered into a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its own results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be kept long enough to answer and maintain the related exchange. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical details when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring site, when one is available
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device’s assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help measure traffic, popular pages, and points where visits end. Analytics providers may combine this activity into summary reports. Browser controls can block cookies, though doing so may change how some site functions behave.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Hamilton County Criminal History does not host, compile, or sell a personal criminal-record database. It explains how to reach the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, local court clerks, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Texas Government Code Chapter 411 controls dissemination of state criminal-history information, while the Texas Public Information Act in Government Code Chapter 552 governs requests to covered public bodies. Neither law turns this private site into a record custodian. We are not a consumer reporting agency, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there falls under the chosen provider’s privacy policy. That company, not us, sets its retention and sharing rules. Read those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Hamilton County government, court portals, Texas agencies, legal resources, or outside tools. Once a visitor follows one, the destination’s privacy terms apply. Review them before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search providers processing a query you submit
- Advertising networks serving page content
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices protect information in our control. No internet service can guarantee perfect protection, so a breach or unauthorized access cannot be ruled out.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A verified report that a minor supplied such data will be addressed by deleting it.
Your Data Rights
Rights vary with the law that applies to the visitor and the data. Texas Government Code Chapters 552 and 411 govern public-information access and criminal-history dissemination, but they do not create a general private-site access right. Where applicable law grants a request right, you may:
- Request deletion of eligible information
- Object to certain forms of processing
- Ask for correction of inaccurate personal data
- Seek a copy of personal information held about you
